Official bodies in charge of the relations with ESA
Ministry of Higher Education and Research
The Ministry of Higher Education and Research (MESR) is responsible for all financial, political and programmatic aspects related to ESA activities.

The Ministry, on the basis of industry and public research capabilities and objectives, opens some programme lines and supports the set-up of projects.

Luxinnovation
Luxinnovation, the National Agency for Innovation and Research, is the National Contact Point for ESA. As such, Luxinnovation provides companies and research centres with information on how ESA operates and the various approaches that can be adopted to its programmes. Luxinnovation can also offer advice and support to entrepreneurs and researchers willing to work with the European Space Agency.

Structures aggregating national players
AeroSpace technology cluster
Since its creation in June 2003, the main aims of the AeroSpace cluster are:

  • the economic development of Luxembourg companies, particularly by promoting their participation in calls from key clients in the aeronautic and space sectors (Airbus, ESA, Eurocopter, etc.);
  • the cooperation among companies from different sectors;
  • to benefit from industrial contacts with leading Luxembourg companies;
  • the transfer of cutting-edge technologies to domestic businesses;
  • worldwide development.

Luxembourg Aeronautic and Space Industry Grouping (GLAE)
The setting up of GLAE (Groupement Luxembourgeois de l'Aéronautique et de l'Espace) follows on from the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg's adhesion to ESA and offers Luxembourg companies the opportunity to create synergies at the national and European level for both private and public sector.
