ESA activities
|
ESA has an important training programme with the aim to improve and develop SME skills and expertise in targeted fields and identified areas of weakness.
|
The courses are prepared by internal ESA experts as well as by external consultants, and are held yearly at the European Space Research and Technology Centre (ESTEC), at Noordwijk (NL). These courses have been so appreciated that both SMEs and other organisations have requested ESA to "export" this training programme to different countries.

Typical courses are: Payload Safety, Configuration Management, Financing Innovative Projects, Writing a Good Technical Proposal in reply to an ESA ITT, Software Engineering and ECSS (European Cooperation for Space Standardization, 40 and 80), Quality Assurance, Materials and Processes.

The courses comprise of lectures supported by Powerpoint presentations, videos and photographs, followed by case studies and practical exercises.
