Luxembourg Space Cluster
| Luxinnovation is involved in the Interreg "Cross-border aerospace cooperation" project launched in 2003. The project aims to develop regional cooperation (Lorraine - Wallonia - Luxembourg) in the aeronautics and space sectors. |
| |
In this context, and convinced of the importance of pooling the expertise available in Luxembourg within these sectors, Luxinnovation has begun preparatory work for the establishment of the Luxembourg Space Cluster. Since its creation in June 2003, the main aims of the Luxembourg Space Cluster have been:
- The economic development of Luxembourgish companies, particularly by participating in calls from key clients in the aeronautic and space sectors (Airbus, ESA, Eurocopter, etc.);
- cooperation among companies from different sectors;
- benefiting from industrial contacts with leading Luxembourgish companies;
- transfer of cutting-edge technologies to domestic businesses;
- Worldwide development.

Luxembourg Aeronautics and Space Industry
Moreover, in the framework of its mission as a promoter of aeronautics and aerospace technologies in Luxembourg, Luxinnovation joined the "Luxembourg Aeronautics and Space Industry Group" (GLAE) on 5 July 2005. The creation of this group follows the admission of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg to the European Space Agency (ESA) in June 2005. The GLAE seeks to be the main interface with the Luxembourg Government. It helps to address any question relating to:
- the initiatives to be undertaken by the state authorities in the framework of ESA programmes;
- the establishment of a space policy in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
