November 25th & 26th, 2008: e-Xstream organises the 1st "Users' Meeting" in Brussels

e-Xstream engineering S.A., which is hosted in the Ecostart Centre in Foetz, is a software and engineering services company 100% focused on state-of the-art multi-scale modeling of multi. e-Xstream develops DIGIMAT, the nonlinear multi-scale material modeling platform that addresses composite material suppliers and end user's needs to design innovative and optimal materials and structures together with reducing the related development time and costs needed to manufacture them.

On November 25th to November 26th e-Xstream is inviting its customers to the 1st DIGIMAT Users' Meeting. The meeting will include presentations from DIGIMAT users, developers and CAE partners aiming at maximizing the return from their DIGIMAT use. Interactive technical Q&A sessions will also be organized to answer any open questions and drive the optimal development of DIGIMAT material modeling platform.

The Users' Meeting will be followed by 1 day introductory and advanced DIGIMAT trainings that will take place in 2 parallel sessions on November 27th, 2008.

Why to attend this event:
  • To learn more about DIGIMAT, The nonlinear multi-scale material and structure modeling platform;
  • To learn more about e-Xstream strategy and product development roadmap;
  • To drive DIGIMAT developments;
  • To network with DIGIMAT users from around the world, the industries (Material suppliers, Automotive, Aerospace, Electric & Electronics...) and materials (Plastics, Rubber, Metals, Composites...);
  • To learn more from e-Xstream's injection modeling and structural CAE partners.
    Participating to the Users' Meeting will help the users to improve the accuracy and efficiency of their composite material and structure modeling predictions using DIGIMAT.

July 15, 2008: DIGIMAT 3.1.1 is released
The highlights of this release are:

  1. Improved modeling of composite materials with Elasto-Viscoplastic matrix behavior subject to high strain-rate loading conditions (i.e. automotive crash, mobile phone drop test);
  2. Advanced Elasto-Viscoplastic material model aimed at modeling the behavior of polymer matrix composites subject to finite strain;
  3. Computation of local and global indicators aimed at assessing the quality of mapping fiber orientation between injection molding and structural FEA;
  4. Support of PAM-CRASH and REM3D formats in MAP;
  5. SMP parallelization of DIGIMAT to Abaqus;
  6. Important speed up of DIGIMAT to Explicit FEA (i.e. Abaqus/Explicit and LS-DYNA);
  7. Optimized and more robust RVE generation and meshing in DIGIMAT-FE;
  8. Export of material RVE geometry from DIGIMAT-FE to ANSYS Workbench.
