The Luxembourg AutoMobility Cluster managed by Luxinnovation, fosters innovation, business development and cross-sector cooperation by bringing together Luxembourg-based auto industry component suppliers. One of the Luxembourg Auto Mobility Cluster’s major works in progress right is the development of a dedicated mobility innovation campus (network) and business incubator.

Luxembourg offers excellent access to all major European development centres for automotive components (mobility) businesses. The country offers the advantages of a multi-lingual, multi-cultural, well-educated business community along with excellent business-oriented public services or the possibility of Private Public Partnerships (PPPs). A unique selling point for businesses is Luxembourg’s strong ICT eco-system with proven competences in cybersecurity and availability of high-speed connectivity (ultra-low latency).

In Brussels, the 34th edition of the European Meeting of Luxembourg Students (REEL) was held at the end of September, a meeting point for Luxembourg students studying in various EU countries. On this occasion, the Luxembourg Automobility Cluster presented its activities and promoted the sector in the Grand Duchy.

New funding opportunities under Horizon 2020 for Next-Generation Batteries

The European Commission published a separate cross-thematic work programme with new Horizon 2020 funding opportunities under the title “Building a Low-Carbon, Climate Resilient Future: Next-Generation Batteries”.
The work programme addresses the challenge of transitioning towards a de-carbonised society, building on the COP21, the EU 2020 targets, and the 2050 Energy Roadmap. The focus is on electric batteries for vehicles, with a budget of €114 Million for 2019 and €70 Million for 2020.

Reporter Pascal Becker talked to .objective-CEO Clemens Dannheim during the opening of the Vodafone 5G lab on May 9th. The piece itself aired at the end of May on RTL Luxembourg.
