ASIME 2018 will focus on the topic of asteroid composition. In particular, contributions that address the following questions are encouraged:
- What do we know about asteroid composition from remote-sensing observations?
- What are the potential caveats in the interpretation of composition from Earth-based spectral observations?
- What developments are required to improve our knowledge of asteroid composition using ground-based and space-based observations and asteroid rendez-vous and sample return missions?
- How can this knowledge be used by industry to recover or use the resources?
We expect that this two-day workshop will draw approximately 50 scientists and engineers from all over the world. Further, the meeting will also allow for detailed discussions on these questions in the context of the engineering needs of space missions with in-space asteroid utilisation.
