Luxinnovation is organising an infoday to introduce the European research and innovation funding provided by the Security calls within Horizon 2020. The calls to be presented are closing end of August 218 and cover European topics in six fields:

  • Critical Infrastructure Protection;
  • Cybersecurity;
  • Digital Security;
  • Disaster Resilient Societies;
  • Fighting Crime and Terrorism; and
  • Border Security and External Security.

These calls are unique in that the funded projects are highly multidisciplinary and bring together technology providers, practitioners, end-users, social science and public authorities. The Horizon 2020 Security calls attract participants from a large variety of application sectors, ranging from virtual reality to artificial intelligence, from materials to cryptology.

In addition to security practitioners (police, fire fighters, first responders, etc.), the Security calls are targeting a wide range of stakeholders beyond the security: end-users such as hospitals or SMEs, infrastructure owners (road, electricity, communication, health, data centres, etc.), social experts, public authorities and so on.
