Horizon Europe’s work programme for 2023-2024 introduced some modifications that prospective applicants should be aware of. The webinar organised by the European R&D and Innovation Support department at Luxinnovation, National Contact Point for Horizon Europe, will unravel these new features, with a particular focus on the significance of the new blind evaluation process and how this concerns your next funding application.

The new Horizon Europe work programmes for the 2023-2024 period were adopted at the end of last year. The current programmes include some new features to strengthen both the application and evaluation processes. Blind evaluations in the first stage of all two-stage applications is one of these new features. Proposals submitted in the second stage will be evaluated as before.

The idea to include blind evaluations in the Horizon Europe project evaluation process was conceived to avoid any real or perceived effect of reputational bias that could subvert the awarding decision. Blind evaluations, in which expert evaluators do not know the identities of project participants, ensure that project proposals are evaluated solely based on their excellence.

Luxinnovation’s Head of European R&D and Innovation Support, Stefano Pozzi Mucelli, will guide participants through the blind evaluation process and unravel all the technical and operational facets involved. What does this mean in practice? How will this impact your future applications? What benefits can you expect? And how can you leverage on this to prepare a better and outstanding application?

Prospective applicants and the curious minded are particularly advised to participate in the hour-long webinar taking place on Thursday 2 March 2023 at 10:30.
