Luxinnovation, the national innovation agency, offers services to companies and research organizations in order to foster innovation, thus supporting the Luxembourg Government’s sustainable economic development objectives. Luxinnovation is a public private partnership comprising the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Higher Education and Research, the Chamber of Commerce, the Chamber of Commerce and the Voice of Luxembourg’s Industry (Fedil).

Through its range of services, Luxinnovation promotes funding programmes implemented by the European Commission and provides advice and assistance to researchers and companies aiming at setting up their European projects. The EU RDI Team provides hands on support to applicants by identifying the most relevant funding opportunities, promising partnerships, and supporting the scoping of the proposals. Furthermore, it assists with the application process and reviewing project proposals, advising on legal and financial issues, and on best practices for project management. Finally, it helps in identifying the most relevant networking opportunities and events.

Advisor – European R&D and Innovation Support (m/f)

The candidate will:

  • Take on the role of National Contact Point in the field of “Cluster 2: Culture, Creativity and Inclusive society” and “Cluster 5: Climate, Energy and Mobility” in order to support all national stakeholders in their participation to European programmes for their research and innovation activities
  • Represent and defend the interests of Luxembourg into specific RDI Committees of the European Commission and in specific events
  • Promote Luxinnovation services and provide support to Luxembourg companies
  • Advise and train active or potential clients individually and in groups
  • Proactively develop new projects or services
  • Follow the evolution of EU Policies in the relevant fields and Identify new trends and customer needs
  • Reach out to and maintain good contacts with the relevant institutional stakeholders at national and international level
  • Participate in writing, editing and submitting projects for Luxinnovation and contribute to the management of European projects in which Luxinnovation is involved


You hold a PhD or a Master degree in thematics related to Climate, Energy or Mobility. You have a proven experience in EU project management, in the above areas (energy, mobility, climate change, or social science and humanities). You demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Knowledge and experience in other areas of EU RDI programmes, including the European Innovation Council, are definitely a plus
  • Previous experience in a consulting firm or in the industry would be strong asset
  • Knowledge of the research and innovation landscape in Luxembourg is also a benefit, but not essential
  • Fluency in French and English (spoken and written)
  • Good social skills, team player, at ease in a multicultural environment
  • Strong customer focus with ability to prioritize on multiple deadlines
  • Conscientious work ethics, especially during periods of increased workload

The place of work is Belval, Luxembourg. The position will involve, with the ease of restrictions due to the COVID pandemic, national and European travel activities of approximately 25%.
