Luxinnovation spoke with Vincent Pedrini (VP), the co-founder of Nomoko:
What has been your biggest achievement since you founded Nomoko?
VP: There have been quite a few since we have founded Nomoko. However, we can certainly pinpoint the most noteworthy. We managed to build a truly talented and creative team, which addressed the typical start-up challenges for example prototyping or attaining funding quite successfully; now that’s our number one achievement. We came to realise quickly that our strongest long-term advantage lies in our people!
In order to be able to build a strong team, we completed a first successful financing round in Q3/2015. Bagging the prestigious Swiss innovation prize « Pionier Preis » in April 2016 was another big and encouraging accomplishment.

What did you learn so far by participating in the Fit for Start programme?
VP: We realised that above all, you need to focus on whatever you do. That was a key lesson for us!
The tools shared by the coaches enabled us to assess our capabilities and stage of development, thereby helping us to focus and identify our business model and target industry. It is really important because it has an impact on the global company strategy, from recruiting the right candidate profiles to attracting potential investors.
What are your next challenges?
VP: In the next months we will mainly be busy working on those three major tasks:
- Finalising our next commercial camera system prototype
- Creating a life-like 3D experience demo
- Closing the next seed funding round
