Our Choice, a circular platform, hosted a series of three webinars in partnership with the Portuguese Belgian Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce to explore, educate and promote the need to pivot to a circular economy versus our current system which is linear and not sustainable.

The third and final part that featured Georges Schaaf (Luxinnovation), Ana Tavares (CITEVE) and Joaquim Moreira (Tetriberica) defined trends in the circular economy.

I think education is really the way to go. People have to know that you don’t lose anything in your lifestyle or in your quality of life if you have products which you can use longer which you can share.

Georges Schaaf (Luxinnovation)

There are always businesses and leaders that have a vision of collaboration, of sharing knowledge. Leaders drive these initiatives until it becomes a trend; and then the others will follow. This is what is happening now.

Ana Tavares (CITEVE)

It’s most important for businesses and the people they serve to undergo a change in mentality. Our process, our practice, must be open for everyone to see how everything happens. And this is a change that is happening very fast.

Joaquim Moreira (Tetriberica)

Georges Schaaf also adds: “Luxembourg launched the PCDS Initiative and the circular Economy Platform to create a favourable environment for the transition to a circular economy. The countries have to set up the necessary macroeconomics factors, and offer a level playing field to Circular Economy Entrepreneurs and this as soon as possible.”
